Council authorizes RFP notice for public-area lighting upgrades; procedural items approved

At its March 25 Committee of the Whole meeting, the Richmond Heights City Council approved a consent-item authorization for the city administration to publish notice of its intent to issue a request for proposals under Ohio Revised Code 717.02. The item was placed on the consent agenda and approved as part of a package of routine items. The motion to approve the consent agenda was moved and seconded and recorded as passing with affirmative votes from Council Members Jordan, Justice, Lewis, Nelson, Robinson, Ursu and Lehi.
Council also approved a motion to excuse Councilman Silver from the day's meeting. Later in the session the council voted to go into executive session "for the purpose of the employment of a city public official," with a stated estimate of no more than about eight minutes for the session. The motion to call executive session was approved by voice roll call.
The meeting record also shows approval of minutes from the March 11 Committee of the Whole meeting earlier in the session; one member recorded an abstention on that vote for absence at the March 11 meeting.
