Council accepts Heinz Construction bid for crack sealing work at 39 cents per foot

Staff said the $75,000 budget line covers the contractor’s equipment and labor for the program, and that the unit price was comparable to recent years (noted as 3 cents less than a prior figure in one exchange). After brief discussion, Councilmember Bondergaard moved and another member seconded to accept the bid and authorize contract work; the motion passed on roll call 5–0.
Public works staff indicated the contract will cover citywide crack sealing and that some minor sealing is completed in-house but the contractor covers the larger mileage that the city cannot do with in-house equipment.
