Park City approves engineering contract for Champtown infrastructure

John, a city staff member, told the council the contract total is $486,800 and broke the scope down by system: $52,500 for sanitary sewer, $66,500 for waterline work and $367,800 for street improvements. "The total cost of the contract is $486,800," John said.
Councilman Jim Schrader moved to approve and authorize the mayor to execute the contract with Baughman Company not to exceed $486,600, contingent on recording the final plat, with funds to come from the capital projects fund. Councilman Charlie Davidson seconded the motion. The council recorded the vote as 8-0.
Staff noted the construction contract for paving had already been approved and that the engineering contract carries the same contingency: final plat mylar must be signed and filed with the county before the design/inspection contract takes effect.
The council's action authorizes staff to finalize the agreement and proceed when the contingency is satisfied.
