Cadet Thornsburg presented the trip details, saying 54 cadets (approximately half male, half female) are on the finalized RSVP list and two chaperones will attend, including Lieutenant Colonel Pete Peterson. The itinerary includes visits to the Ohio Statehouse, Motts Military Museum, a veterans museum, and the Columbus Zoo; cadets will stay overnight at a Holiday Inn. The only district funding requested was for transportation (two buses).
The trip was on the meeting agenda and the board approved the request by roll call during the consent items.
District staff confirmed the transportation request and indicated approval covers school-provided buses for the trip.
