District posts Phase 2 facilities consolidation page, schedules community tours and FAQs

The Oshkosh Area School District on Oct. 9 told the school board it has published a Phase 2 facilities consolidation web page that includes presentation slides, tour observations, a consolidated FAQ and a schedule of community feedback sessions as the district moves from initial study into Phase 2 planning.
District administrators said the web page is intended to be a single, stable place where residents can find materials, ask questions and see summaries of feedback collected during guided tours and information sessions. The district encouraged residents to use the facilities page for dates and to submit questions and written feedback.
"All of those questions are listed here," district administrator Conrad Peterson said while pointing board members and the public to the FAQ that consolidates questions from multiple sessions. Peterson said the phase‑2 page includes session overviews, the presentation materials and items raised by attendees at guided tours.
Administrators acknowledged community concerns about financing, class size and accessibility and said the FAQ addresses those topics directly, including a question about whether larger consolidated schools would mean larger class sizes; the district replied that class‑size ratios would not change though some services would be centralized for efficiency. The district also noted a forthcoming recorded update to make information accessible to residents who cannot attend in person.
Several board members pressed for clearer, non‑text communications. One board member asked that the district add images and infographics and urged creating a visible landing page for material commonly searched as "referendum," even though staff said the current effort is being described as a phase of planning rather than a referendum at the time of the meeting. Administrators said they will consider additional visuals, translation improvements and a simple URL for easier public access.
The district said a community feedback session was scheduled for Oct. 10 at Veil Phillips (Bell) Middle School and listed other upcoming meetings on the facilities page.
