Board adopts updated strategic vision and packages multiple action items

The Green Bay Area Public School District Board of Education unanimously approved a revised strategic vision on March 17 after months of drafts and board input. The updated language notifies the public of the district’s core graduate portrait and related priorities.
The board packaged multiple consent and action items that had been the subject of prior discussion and approved them in grouped votes. During roll calls the chair called each member and recorded ayes and abstentions as appropriate; the package votes carried.
Board member Lynn Lyerly drew attention to a small wording change in the proposed vision; the approved vision reads, in part, that "Green Bay Area Public School graduates will be academic achievers, communicators and connectors, architects of their own success, leaders and teammates empowered to navigate their own life's journey." The board accepted the updated language and the motion to approve the packaged items carried with all voting in favor where recorded.
The strategic plan approval completes a months‑long update process the district said included board feedback and staff revisions. The board treated the strategic plan as the culmination of prior planning work and moved on to several operational action items later in the meeting.
