Billing backlog, budget-tracker changes and several facilities projects discussed; Wallace Student Center RFP set for Feb. 13

Michael Compton, identified in the transcript as a meeting participant, presented the billing report and told the committee the office had run into invoicing problems: some vendors’ invoices were being routed incorrectly (for example, Precision Controls invoices were sent to an incorrect address), producing a backlog and the appearance of older invoices in the current month’s report.

On facilities, committee members and staff discussed outstanding work and pending invoices for major items such as boilers and gymnasium repairs; Compton said the invoices for those projects had not yet been received. Committee members asked whether a freeze-tap temperature sensor issue contributed to a cold Science Building, and staff said it was not the sole reason.

The committee discussed the Copper Top project and potential associated concrete work; Compton said some of those costs may be significant and that contractors such as Precision Design are involved. The committee also heard an update that Russ Mullins had contacted a previous contractor to inspect the East Hall roof. The Wallace Student Center will go out for bids under an RFP, with bid openings expected on Feb. 13, according to the transcript.
