The Rules and Strategic Planning Standing Committee voted to adopt revisions to the county strategic plan’s organizational chart and instructed administration to amend and publish the plan without returning the change to the County Board. The committee said the change reflects structural modifications adopted earlier by resolution and should be communicated to the County Board through the administrator’s report.
In a related action, the committee accepted a drafted strategic-plan work plan for distribution. The work plan assigns specific tactics and performance metrics to staff, supervisors and committees, and includes columns for performance targets, start and end dates, and placeholders for estimated financial costs. Committee members asked that the document be circulated to department heads and standing committees so departments can assess feasibility and cost estimates.
Members discussed the appropriate responsible party language in the draft work plan — for example, whether certain tasks should name the vice chair or the Rules and Strategic Planning Committee as the responsible body — and agreed to replace instances of an individual vice-chair assignment with the committee where appropriate.
The committee voted to distribute the draft work plan for departmental and committee feedback, with the understanding that the plan will return to the committee for further refinement after that comment period.
Ending
Administration will publish the updated organizational chart and distribute the draft work plan to departments and standing committees for feedback; the work plan will be revised and returned to the committee for ongoing monitoring and future action.
