The Rock County Board of Supervisors voted to approve an amended lease agreement with Hendricks Commercial Properties LLC for a county location in Beloit.
Brent Sutherland, speaking to the item, said the county initially began leasing the space in February 2005 and that the amendment reduces the leased square footage after the health department moved to the library. He said the change “saves us approximately 30,000 or 32,000 a year and then this extends it for another 5 years.” Sutherland said the Director of Human Services had approved the five-year extension.
The motion to approve the lease amendment was made by Supervisor Bridal and seconded by Supervisor Wilson. The roll-call vote recorded 27 yes, 0 no, 2 absent; the motion passed.
No further financial detail or a precise square-footage reduction was provided on the record during the meeting; the county indicated the purpose was to reduce costs after departmental moves.
