Rock County accepts additional State Opioid Response funds, totaling $727,956 through Sept. 29, 2025

The Rock County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved supplemental budget acceptance of $152,240 awarded by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services under the State Opioid Response Grant.
Supervisor Knutson explained that the new award is in addition to $575,716 previously budgeted and that “a total of $727,956 is available from September 30 through 09/29/2025.” He said the funding will be used to help individuals access medication-assisted treatment and counseling for opioid and stimulant use disorders and to provide recovery support services including peer support and sober living. “This funding will be used to assist uninsured or uninsured individuals in accessing medication assisted treatment and or counseling for opioid use disorder and stimulant use disorder,” Knutson said.
The motion to amend the Human Services Department budget to accept the additional funds was moved by Supervisor Knutson and seconded by Supervisor Whitman. The roll-call vote recorded 27 yes, 0 no, 2 absent; the motion passed.
Director Lester of Human Services was present at the meeting; no additional programmatic changes were introduced during the board action. The award covers eligible services through Sept. 29, 2025.
