At its Jan. 28 meeting the Dobbs Ferry Board of Trustees recorded the following formal actions.
- Accepted resignation of Police Officer Amanda Strobel, effective Jan. 27, 2025. Motion moved by Trustee Rosenberg and seconded by Trustee Galen; board thanked Strobel for her service and the motion passed by voice vote.
- Accepted resignation of John Kaufman from the library board. Motion moved by Trustee Veil and seconded by Trustee Patino; motion passed unanimously.
- Accepted resignation of Lisonbee Hendelay from the library board. Motion moved by Trustee Rosenberg and seconded by Trustee Galen; motion passed unanimously.
- Appointed Francis Washington to the ad hoc Human Rights and Diversity Committee. The mayor said the Human Rights and Diversity Committee and the nominating committee had met with Washington; appointment announced and accepted.
- Appointed Sawyer Schumankowski as a volunteer firefighter for the Dobbs Ferry Volunteer Fire Department. Motion moved by Trustee Rosenberg and seconded by Trustee Patino; the board thanked Schumankowski for volunteering and the motion was approved by voice vote.
- Tabled action item 4 (engagement of Ashton Design for services based on RFP); trustees said they wanted to negotiate or clarify scope and cost before engaging; the item was tabled for further review.
- Approved the village audit of claims as submitted and recommended by the village treasurer. Motion moved by Trustee Rosenberg and seconded by Trustee Patino; motion passed.
- Added to the agenda and set a public hearing for Feb. 11 to consider amending chapter 230 (parks) on hours for entry and use of village parks. Trustee Nell moved to add the public hearing; Trustee Galen seconded and the motion passed.
Where recorded, motions were moved and seconded as listed and passed by voice vote. Several items were routine personnel or procedural matters; the board recorded thanks to departing volunteers and staff members.
