Organizers said they are implementing a color-coded ticketing system to manage capacity and volunteer flow and that volunteer coaches for sewing and other categories have reengaged.
Earth Fair: Staff said Earth Fair planning is underway with biweekly planning meetings and an outreach subcommittee working on sponsorship levels, poster printing timelines and vendor forms. The commission discussed sponsorship outreach and translation for promotional materials; volunteers offered to assist with Spanish-language radio and flyer translation. Staff said sponsor and exhibitor forms will be posted on the city events page when finalized.
Kingston Organics: Brandon Walsh provided a program update: the city's organics drop-off program has registered 543 households, representing 1,094 people, and diverted roughly 51.67 tons of organic material to date. Staff discussed logistics, social media outreach and next steps for communications.
Sponsorships and outreach: Commissioners asked where sponsors should send checks and how to access sponsorship materials; staff said the sponsorship letter and levels document will be finalized and posted, and volunteers agreed to help recruit sponsors and offer translation support. A web form for sponsors and exhibitors is being prepared and will be posted once finalized.
Ending: Organizers asked commissioners to help recruit sponsors and volunteers for Earth Fair and to share event information once the city posts the final sponsor and vendor forms online.
