The Department of Public Health board unanimously approved the minutes from its Dec. 9 meeting and set a tentative plan to reconvene in June to continue a hearing in the Rosenthal matter.
Board members asked staff to provide documents in advance of the hearing. Board member Nancy Horn said, "for those of us who are not attorneys, if we could get any reading materials, before the weekend, ... it would be very helpful." Staff said the board issues a notice of submission that allows at least five days for parties to submit documentation before a hearing, and the board expects to rely on that schedule if parties file materials.
During approval of the minutes the board also noted a typographical error in the record: the name of the OAKS system had been printed without the final "E." A board member asked that the minutes be updated to restore the omitted letter and several references be corrected accordingly; staff agreed to make the edits before finalizing the record.
Members also discussed board orientation slides presented previously by Ryan Burns. The slides were described as public documents; staff said they would share them with board members and any member of the public who requested them.
The board said it will hold a regular meeting in June and, if the Rosenthal case remains continued, will proceed with the hearing at that time. No new evidentiary submissions or hearing outcomes were announced at the meeting.
The meeting ended with a motion to adjourn that the board approved by voice vote.
