Clay County approves second payment for Innovate 28 initiative after commissioners cite legislative support work

Commissioners who had participated in recent Capitol advocacy and a legislative day said the chamber had organized strong legislative outreach and constituency coordination. “The connections we’ve been making here are just, pretty amazing,” said one commissioner, noting the chamber’s lobbyist and the value of coordinated legislative engagement. After brief discussion, a commissioner moved and the board approved release of the second payment by roll‑call vote. Commissioners requested that the chamber and EDC return to a future meeting to provide a report on how the funding is being used.
