The Clay County Board of Commissioners on March 25 voted unanimously to appoint Josh Schrader of Barnesville to a three‑year term on the Clay County Planning Commission.
Matt Jacobson, speaking for the county planning commission, told the board the planning commission had recommended Schrader after a commissioner from Barnesville stepped down March 18. “The motion was unanimous to recommend him,” Jacobson said.
Josh Schrader spoke briefly after his appointment, saying he has served three years on the Barnesville Planning and Zoning Commission and works as an engineer for KLJ. “I’ve been on the Barnesville planning and zoning commission for 3 years with Brent Berg. He’s our chair, enjoyed working with him,” Schrader said. He added he did not expect conflicts with his work schedule and would be “happy to…get to work.”
The board moved, seconded and took a roll‑call vote that recorded the appointment as approved. Commissioners present voiced their welcome and the board extended its thanks to the outgoing member.
Ending: Commissioners welcomed Schrader and encouraged his involvement in county planning matters; Schrader said he would begin serving immediately.
