City to redevelop downtown 'penguin' lot into park addition; officials point to downtown housing and jobs targets

She highlighted Meeker and other corridors as connectors that will improve access to downtown and nearby transit.
The city's purchase and planned park expansion are intended to create public gathering space in the downtown core and improve the area's appeal for residents and businesses.
