The Board of Supervisors continued the public hearing on appeal AB‑24‑05 — the Planning Commission’s denial of major use permit UP‑2014 for a property at 23180 Shady Grove Road in Middletown — to a date and time certain: April 1 at 10:00 a.m.
Community Development Director Maria Turner said Supervisor Owen (district supervisor for the area) requested the continuance so the matter could be heard with the district supervisor present. County counsel and the clerk administered oath for potential witnesses in case the board wished to take sworn testimony limited to the continuance question.
Members of the public — including neighborhood residents and a representative appearing on Zoom for the applicant (Nina Star LLC) — spoke in favor of the continuance to allow more community notice and to ensure the district supervisor could participate. The applicant’s representative stated that, while prepared for today’s hearing, the applicant had no objection to a short continuance.
The board moved and seconded a continuance of the appeal hearing to April 1 at 10:00 a.m. The motion passed on a voice vote; the clerk will place the item on the April 1 agenda for full hearing.
