The Gardner City Conservation Commission on April 1 ordered a stop to work at 282 Brookside Drive after wood and logs removed from the woods were dragged onto the owner’s property and in some cases redistributed without clear proof of the owner’s property boundary.
Commissioners told the property owner to leave all material in place and to obtain plot plans or survey markers so a licensed surveyor can determine where the property lines lie before any further disturbance. The inspector reported that a plot plan was pulled from city records and boundary markers may be present but not obvious on-site.
Commission members warned the owner not to return to the area until boundary markers are established: “Do nothing. Don't touch anything…You need to find out where those boundary markers are,” the chair said. The commission continued the item to April 14 to give the owner time to confirm property lines and to allow staff to review the situation.
Action taken: Continued to April 14; owner ordered to stop any further work and to present a surveyor’s findings at the continued hearing.
