Chris said crews stopped immediately when instructed and that SMM (an erosion-control contractor) is scheduled to install containment on April 4: “It's gonna be the mulch, socks with a 2 foot, silken, about 600 feet… 1 straw and we want it dug in 6 inches at the bottom of the silt fence.”
Commissioner Mary Anne (commission staff) directed the contractor to stop work, inspect the site and wait for Mary Anne’s direction on how to remove wood chips already in the wetland. The commission member warned that continued work could trigger fines: “When are you gonna be back in Nothing. No. Nothing. We if you start working, I'm gonna start assessing fines.”
Action taken: The commission voted to continue the 36 Nicole Terrace matter to April 14 to allow installation of erosion controls and to receive a remediation plan and photographs documenting the site prior to additional work.
Next steps: The contractor and property owner must install erosion controls on April 4 as described and submit the details to Justin. The commission asked Mary Anne to attend the April 14 meeting to give further direction and to review the corrective measures.
