Board approves curriculum evaluation work plan, early-learning review and a third preservice day for new teachers

Additionally the board approved a third paid preservice day for first-year teachers, to be paid at $200 per day. Administration said the extra day is intended to better prepare teachers with nontraditional backgrounds or alternate pathways for classroom routines, curriculum and mentoring; district estimated the annual cost between $14,000 and $18,000 depending on new-hire numbers.
