Planning commission OKs 24‑month extension for Hawthorne preliminary plat

The Perrysburg Planning Commission recommended extending the preliminary plat for the Hawthorne subdivision until Feb. 27, 2027, after hearing that the developer applied prior to the existing approval’s expiration.
City staff said the Hawthorne subdivision, north of Canterbury, is in R‑3 zoning and that the application history mirrors Canterbury’s: the applicant sought the renewal before the prior deadline. "We are operating off of a currently active preliminary plat," the administrator said, and staff recommended a 24‑month extension to allow continued progress on the development.
Commission members asked no substantive questions and voted to recommend approval. The motion specifies the preliminary plat extension shall be valid until Feb. 27, 2027; if the final plat is not recorded within that period the developer must resubmit for planning commission approval.
Staff noted a record of recent project activity and said the code permits the extension. No additional conditions were imposed by the commission during the vote.
