WOBURN — The council considered two mayoral nominations to the Woburn Redevelopment Authority (WRA) and recommended both for approval.
Anthony Langone Jr., who described himself as born and raised in Woburn with prior service on the traffic and conservation commissions, said he wants to apply his local experience to redevelopment work downtown. Mayor and council members praised Langone’s civic engagement and recommended him for the WRA.
Douglas Olander said his family’s multigenerational downtown business experience and frequent presence in the city center gave him practical familiarity with downtown needs. Councilors said both men bring “new blood” and energy and would help the WRA push on redevelopment priorities such as Central Square and sign continuity in the downtown.
Committee action: The committee moved both appointments out for final council action; voice votes were recorded and carried.
