The Oak Creek Plan Commission on March 11 approved landscape plan modifications at Redwall Scribe Printing, 7655 South Sixth Street, intended to increase on-site green space.
Todd, Department of Community Development staff, told the commission the applicant proposes four new landscaped islands in the parking lot (each to contain a shade tree and code-required ground cover) and the removal of about 1,900 square feet of pavement on the western portion of the lot to be replanted with grass. Staff said the combined green space across the two related lots meets the city’s 30% requirement despite one lot individually being below the threshold.
Commissioners expressed support for the added green space. One commissioner noted cooperation between the two tax parcels and said the plan "improves our parking lot a little bit." The motion to approve the landscape plan was moved and approved by roll call.
Staff said the approval applies subject to the usual condition that any building permit applications must still conform to submitted plans and code requirements.
