The Connecticut Nursing Board voted unanimously to add several items to its March 19, 2025 agenda and approved minutes from its Feb. 19, 2025 regular meeting with a friendly amendment to correct a board member—s recorded leave and return times.
Board Chair Gina Reiner opened the meeting by noting there were a number of items to add to the agenda. The board voted to add a Department of Public Health motion for summary suspension and a motion to withdraw the department—s motion for summary suspension for Guerlande A. Jean, LPN (petition no. 2022-1105). The board also added a motion to withdraw the statement of charges for Lori M. Alexowitz, LPN (petition no. 2024-1776), to be heard before the memorandum of decision items.
The expansions to the agenda were moved and seconded by board members; the chair called for a voice vote and recorded no nays or abstentions. The board then moved to approve the minutes from the Feb. 19, 2025 regular meeting. Board member Sal Diaz raised a concern that the draft minutes recorded his return to the meeting at the wrong point, which could give the impression he listened to a portion he did not. The board agreed to a friendly amendment to change the timing of Diaz—s return, and approved the minutes by roll call.
The vote to amend the agenda and the action on the minutes were procedural and passed without recorded opposition. The chair instructed staff to reflect the agreed corrections in the published minutes and to add the newly approved agenda items for later consideration in the meeting.
The changes clarified the meeting record and ensured the named docket items would be addressed later in the session rather than omitted.
