State Board of Chiropractic Examiners approves Nov. 21 minutes, names acting chair as delegate to two national meetings

The board approved the Nov. 21 minutes after a motion to adopt. Michelle (board member) moved to approve the minutes and Dr. Hargreaves seconded; the chair called for the vote and members answered “Aye,” after which the minutes were recorded as approved.
On the FCLB and NBCE designations, the board discussed the value of having representation at the national meetings and the role of board members in observing exam development. Carlos Begodian, acting chair, told the board that he will attend and said, “I will be attending there in my current role as a president of national boards,” and that he would provide a report to the board after the meetings. Members agreed that the board should have at least one delegate and one alternate; the motions to designate Begodian as delegate for the FCLB and for the NBCE were moved and seconded and carried by voice vote.
The board chair noted that FCLB materials and the annual-meeting agenda are available on the FCLB website for members who wish to review them or to serve on test committees. Begodian emphasized the board’s interest in ensuring licensure exams meet Connecticut standards, saying the board has “an obligation to ensure that these exams the way they're developed and administered meet the standards that we like to have here in Connecticut to protect the public.” He said he would report back with any updates after the meetings.
