Chair appoints Sarita as Connecticut representative to ADEX exam committee

Sarita told the board she had spoken with Perkins and that he believed her background in education would “make sense” for the role. “Yes. I've spoken to him, and it, he seems to think it makes sense being in education to be there,” Sarita said. The chair said he would notify Perkins that Sarita would serve as the state’s representative and treated the appointment as an executive appointment rather than one requiring a board vote.
Board members introduced two new dentists at the start of the meeting: Dr. Leslie Bumpus, who said she works for the Department of Corrections at the women's facility at York and recently completed a master’s of public health, and Dr. Ross Santolipo, who described 30 years in private practice in oral and maxillofacial surgery and service as chief of dental service at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Those introductions preceded the discussion about the ADEX representation.
The chair characterized the representative's expected duties as attending meetings and serving as “a voice for each state,” and the board did not record a roll-call vote on the appointment. No further procedural steps were stated during the meeting.
The appointment resolves the immediate representation question raised by Perkins' notice about the ADEX bylaw change; board members did not request additional information or a future vote during the session.
