The Green City Council opened a public hearing on Jan. 14 on Resolution 2024‑R75, a resolution to establish a street‑lighting district for Stoney Creek Estates Phase 4 and to declare an emergency.
Planning/administration staff explained the Phase 4 subdivision is under construction and the proposed district would fund six street lights. The developer will assume the cost of installation and conduit; FirstEnergy estimated the monthly operating cost at about $76 and staff said that operating cost would be spread over the subdivision’s 30 lots and collected by the city as an annual assessment once houses are built.
Council noted street lighting exists in the prior phases and that this request continues the existing pattern. The city’s rules prevent action on the hearing at the same meeting; council closed the hearing and will discuss the resolution at the next regular council meeting.
No public commenters spoke for or against the district during the hearing portion recorded in the transcript.
