Licensing panel approves scores of engineer and surveyor applications, tables several for more documentation

At a regularly scheduled meeting of the licensing board on an unspecified date, members approved dozens of license applications and reinstatements for engineers and surveyors, denied one candidate for insufficient experience and tabled several applications pending additional documentation and evaluations.

The board approved applicants across multiple license classes, including successful motions to accept minutes, to approve applicants for Class 8, Class 13, Class 14 and Class 9 licenses and to reinstate four previously licensed professionals. Reviewers reported a large batch of reciprocity and examination-based approvals were “model law” applicants reviewed through NCEES (the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying), and the board moved most of those forward without extended discussion.

Why it matters: the board’s approvals determine which engineers and land surveyors may practice in the jurisdiction; the tabled and denied applications highlight the board’s enforcement of experience, endorsement and credential-evaluation standards.
