Flagler County School Board recognizes April observances, approves routine business and requests follow-ups

The Flagler County School Board on March 25 read a series of proclamations recognizing April observances, heard district program and partnership updates and approved routine consent and action items unanimously while asking staff for follow-up information on ESOL certification and a cooperative health-care presentation.

The board recognized April as School Library Month, Child Abuse Prevention Month, Autism Acceptance Month and Florida Volunteer Month, and heard short spotlights including upcoming free ECGs and sports physicals for student athletes provided by AdventHealth and an invitation to an autism awareness and acceptance fair hosted by Vincent’s Clubhouse.

Why it matters: The proclamations highlight district emphasis on student supports (literacy, child-safety awareness, disability inclusion and volunteer engagement). The board’s unanimous approval of consent and action items moves routine finance, personnel and academic matters forward while directing staff to return with information on compliance and vendor briefings that could affect district operations.
