New tool: ZoneHaven County staff introduced ZoneHaven, a web tool residents can use to find their neighborhood evacuation zone by entering an address at community.zonehaven.com. Knowing the assigned zone helps residents interpret evacuation orders and advisories more quickly and reduces confusion during an emergency.
Practical advice and special needs: Presenters and public speakers stressed practical steps—marking evacuated homes with tags so deputies know which residences are empty, and planning for medically dependent household members who need power for devices such as CPAP machines or oxygen concentrators. The county’s 2‑1‑1 information line was highlighted as a 24/7 referral source during incidents.
What the board heard: Supervisors praised outreach efforts and asked staff to keep the public informed about measles, evacuation planning and funding for roadside vegetation treatment.
