Trustees received updates on library programs and upcoming fundraising activities at the March 24 meeting.
Staff reported steady turnout for the Great Decisions lecture series, with in-person audiences typically between 25 and 35 and additional remote views; one program had about 93 online views. The library will keep past programs posted on its YouTube channel but said only 30-day statistics are used for on-site attendance metrics.
The board heard that an author event with Jennifer Chiaverini has at least 108 registrants; trustees said they hope a successful event will strengthen ties with booksellers such as Boswell Books and lead to more author events. Trustees discussed opportunities to partner with schools and local media to promote future programs.
Fundraising events were also on the calendar: a wine-pairing fundraiser April 3 (a retail partner will donate a portion of sales, reported as about 10 percent) and a Moteman Foundation event on June 1. Trustees said the foundation is assembling raffle baskets and staffing a fundraising table.
