Reynoldsburg council approves JFK courts conversion contract, shared‑mobility agreement, personnel resolution and speed‑limit change

The council approved an ordinance authorizing the mayor to enter into a contract with EMAH and T for engineering, design and bid services for converting the JFK tennis courts to a hybrid tennis/pickleball facility. The Development, Parks and Recreation Committee had amended the EMAH and T contract to reduce an erroneously included fee; the administration described the $50,000 figure as an engineering fee only, not payment for construction or inspection. The committee amendment was seconded by Council Member Towns and carried in committee; the ordinance was later approved by full council on an emergency basis by a 6–0 vote.
Council also approved an ordinance authorizing the mayor to enter into a contract with Shared Mobility for transportation services, appropriating funds and waiving competitive bidding; that ordinance was approved 6–0 on the consent/emergency agenda.
The council approved a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute an agreement for a limited independent contractor to improve employee recruitment and retention. The administration said former director Boller is to be hired for up to three months to complete the work. The Finance and Administration Committee forwarded the resolution to council, and the council approved it by roll call (6–0). The clerk read aye votes from Council Members Towns, Sivati, Peckerel, Baker, Johnson and President Strickland.
An ordinance amending Reynoldsburg Codified Ordinance section 333.03 (maximum speed limits and assured clear distance ahead) passed third reading by a 6–0 roll-call vote; the clerk again recorded ayes from Towns, Sivati, Peckerel, Baker, Johnson and President Strickland.
Other brief items: the Clerk of Court reported $28,975 in monies collected from city courts in February 2025. In public comment, Adam Shiffman of Reynoldsburg (683 Blazin Street) thanked council in advance in support of the JFK courts conversion and said the local pickleball/tennis club has grown to about 280 members.
