Deputy Chief Victor Bender told Reynoldsburg City Council on Feb. 20 that the police department completed an investigation into a liquor-permit transfer application for Reynoldsburg Nepali Bazaar LLC, doing business as Taylor Road Asian Market at 8305 Taylor Road, and is requesting a hearing on the application.
Deputy Chief Bender told council the permit sought is a C1/C2 class for beer, wine and mixed beverages and sealed-container carryout. He said the Ohio Department of Liquor Control advised the city it was not aware of impediments to approval but noted that the property sits across from an elementary school and that the business driveway empties into a school zone; the business also has a daycare on an adjoining property. Given those proximity concerns, the deputy chief requested a hearing on the transfer application.
Council did not take a final action on the permit at the meeting; Deputy Chief Bender asked whether there were any questions and said he was requesting the hearing so the council could consider public-safety and zoning context before a final administrative decision by the state authority.
