Gerry, a city staff member reporting during the meeting, said the application deadline for the Public Works director position is Friday, March 28 at 4 p.m. He said about eight applicants have applied and staff expects a few additional applicants before the deadline.
The council received several routine administrative updates: golf-cart stickers are available at city offices Monday through Friday and take effect April 1; the price listed in the meeting was $35. The council’s aldermen also noted community calendar items: the Monticello Salome Middle School and Monticello High School jazz bands will perform at Ellerton Mansion on April 2, and a blood drive is scheduled for March 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the high school.
