Student leaders report Minathon raised over $57,000; district students earn PMEA ensemble placements

The presentation noted that district placements re-audition at the district festival for region-level placement and that state-ensemble selection would be determined in mid-March with state ensemble events scheduled April 9–12.
Band director Mike Massimo, orchestra director Jake Olimpi and choir director Rachel Basiskew were named in the presentation as thanking district administrators and the board for support of music education.
Superintendent remarks and school highlights Superintendent remarks that followed noted several school fundraising and community events: Culbertson’s Read-a-Thon raised $14,000; Laurel’s jump-rope fundraiser raised over $12,000 for the American Heart Association; elementary schools held pizza bingos, fun fairs and family music nights; the high school hosted the spring musical "Legally Blonde," and the high school’s High Q and mock-trial teams advanced in regional competition.
The student representatives and district staff thanked the board for attendance and support; the superintendent’s report concluded by wishing success to the teams advancing to state-level competitions.
