Committee urges mayor to check whether iWORKS can accept and track public complaints online

Committee members asked the mayor to investigate whether those modules have been activated and requested that staff report back within two weeks.
Supporters of enabling online complaints said an online portal would allow residents to upload photos, place complaints directly into the enforcement queue, and provide an auditable status trail so elected officials and administrators can monitor response times. Committee members also said the system could improve accountability and reduce reliance on emailed complaints that can be lost.
City staff present said they would check prior budget records and confirm whether the citizen-facing and alderman-tracking modules exist or were purchased, and the mayor said he would provide the committee with answers and documentation about the iWORKS modules. The committee scheduled a follow-up for Feb. 4 to revisit the question and requested copies of prior budget minutes and documentation about the original purchase and modules.
