The Olean Common Council on Jan. 14 determined that the proposed Fannie E. Bartlett House roof replacement is a Type II action under the State Environmental Quality Review Act and therefore not subject to further SEQRA review.
Council President Crawford opened the item (PL 1-25), saying the determination was made because the project would “replace roofing materials similar to what is existing.” Carrie Kerper, program coordinator in the Department of Community Development, was identified earlier in the meeting as the contact for the draft comprehensive development plan and appeared as staff for planning items.
Alderman Benyon moved the resolution; Alderman McCall seconded. The motion carried and PL 1-25 was referred to the council’s regular meeting. A later roll call recorded the resolution as passing with six ayes and one abstention.
Kerper and council members said the city has received funding to help replace the Bartlett House roof; the amount and funding source were not specified in the meeting record.
No public comment on this item was recorded during the committee session. The resolution will appear on the regular meeting agenda for final action and any implementation steps, including contracting and timeline, were not specified in the committee record.
