Euclid commission removes two names from police certified eligibility list

Captain Olszewski of the police department told commissioners the list required two changes: “We have, 2 removals, 1 by request, 1 for cause,” he said. The commission approved both removals by voice vote.
The first removal was of candidate number 19, Dominic Glenn; commissioners approved removing him from the certified list based on his request. The second removal was of candidate number 15, Stephanie Hancock; Olszewski said the Hancock removal was for cause and cited a background issue. Commissioners moved and seconded each motion and recorded aye votes; the meeting record shows the motions carried.
No additional details about the background issue were disclosed in the meeting record. Commissioners did not ask follow-up questions after Olszewski’s explanation.
The commission did not take further action on police hiring at the Feb. 4 meeting.
