Euclid council delays vote on conditional-use permit for day care at 27801 Euclid Avenue

Councilman Gresham moved to postpone the resolution until the applicant petitions to place the legislation on a future agenda and coordinates with the law department; the motion passed on a roll call vote with all members recorded as voting yes.
The law director told the council the applicant was not present and city staff had inspected the building and “have not seen any business activity.” The director said the council could vote on the merits that night or postpone to allow the applicant to appear; council opted to delay so Williams can address outstanding questions. The law director summarized the available options and recommended postponement to protect the applicant’s opportunity to respond.
Council members said they wanted the applicant to appear before the council so members could ask questions about operations and confirm compliance with city requirements. The motion passed unanimously; the council clerk recorded the vote as yes from Gresham, Cosgrove, Hannam, Wotilla, Diebeck, Steele, Tanner and Jaros.
No new hearings or dates were set during the meeting. City staff said the applicant will be asked to contact the law department when she is available so the legislation can be placed on a future agenda.
