Board considers multiple capital purchases, bids and contract approvals including fleet building and loader purchase

Paulding County commissioners considered several capital procurements and project approvals during the meeting, including a construction contract for a new county fleet building, purchase of a wheel loader for the water department, and renovation of Fire Station No. 1.

Fleet building: County staff asked the board to authorize the chairman to sign a construction agreement with Hogan Construction Group, Inc. to build a new fleet facility on the old jail site at 25 Industrial Way North. The construction total presented in the meeting was $4,430,000. Staff said the building will include roughly 3,000 square feet of office space and about 20,500 square feet of shop space and that the low bid came from Hogan Construction after 11 bidders responded; the stated project timeline is 14 months.
