Peoria County treasurer reports audit work, mobile-home tax billing and seasonal staffing plan

Peoria County Treasurer Miss Bierke reported to the Ways and Means Committee that her office is finishing audit documentation and has mailed mobile-home tax bills.
“We just mailed out 998 mobile home tax bills and we've begun collection on those as well,” Bierke said. She said the county clerk currently has the county’s tax bills and that the treasurer’s office is coordinating with the printer to finalize bills once the clerk transfers responsibility.
Bierke said the office has started interviews for seasonal help approved by the committee. When asked how long seasonal staff will be employed, she said they will work roughly from May 1 through October to support vacation coverage and peak processing.
No formal action was taken; the report was presented as information in the committee packet.
