The Garden City Commission on March 18 ratified lease-purchase amendments and authorized documents related to a land sale with Meadowlark Dairy Nutrition LLC.
Staff said the action ratifies agreements the commission approved in principle on Dec. 17, 2024, and authorizes a designated city representative (the mayor) to execute the closing documents. Mike (staff member) told the commission Meadowlark will pay the city $1,185,334; the payment will be deposited into the city's bar/waste fund under reimbursement and development.
Why it matters: The approved resolution finalizes terms city staff negotiated with Meadowlark and clears the way for closing if all required documents are in order. Staff recommended ratifying the amended agreements and authorizing the mayor to sign closing documents.
The commission approved the resolution on a voice vote after a motion to adopt Resolution No. 3169 as presented. The meeting minutes record the action as approved; no roll-call tally was given.
Staff said the approval implements commitments made during earlier negotiations and will allow the designated representative to execute transaction documents to complete the closing.
