Director Aaron Gerber says WASDA tracking MSOC and special education funding bills

Director Aaron Gerber delivered the board’s legislative report and said the Washington Association of School Districts (WASDA) is tracking a number of bills in the state legislative session. He told the board that many bills are winnowed out during early committee work and that the district is watching two main items that remain active: an MSOC bill and a special-education funding bill.
"The legislative session is still happening. As you know, they have a bunch of bills at the beginning and they just kind of get whittled down," Gerber said, adding that WASDA will continue to monitor the MSOC and SPED funding proposals and report progress to the district. No board action was taken on the report; Gerber said the district continues to support the two bills on WASDA’s watch list.
