Key votes and outcomes

- 2025 waterline replacements: Approved. Council authorized the mayor to sign a contract with SHI International Corporation for $122,930.45 as the city’s third-year renewal under its Microsoft Enterprise Agreement; motion by Councilmember Cleveland McGrath, second by Councilmember Fantini; motion carried.

- Marches Point Road design contract modification: Approved. Council authorized a contract modification with Kimberly Horn and Associates that increases the design contract by $485,500 to a total of $1,075,100 to advance the West Marches Point Road project from 60% to 100% design, including additional permitting and design for erosion stabilization and a new 30‑inch water main; motion carried.

- Ordinance adopting AMC chapter 10.14 (temporary street closures and restrictions): Approved with emergency modifications. Council waived the two‑reading rule, amended the draft to remove the broadest delegation to any full‑time city employee and removed a reference to a “regular” meeting in the ordinance’s reporting language, and adopted the ordinance with an emergency clause to allow immediate use in advance of a scheduled heavy haul. The approved changes narrowed delegation and allowed the mayor, public-works director, fire chief, police chief and city engineer to close or restrict streets up to 72 hours, with council required for closures beyond 72 hours.
