The Rossford Public Works Committee reported a range of street projects and a public meeting for the Maryland Drive drainage and pavement project at the City Council session on March 24.
City staff said the Maryland Drive pre‑construction open house will be held Tuesday, March 25, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the annex; engineers will be available to answer questions. The committee reported that Bergman is the contractor for Maryland Drive and that a pre‑construction meeting is scheduled; Rinker Court is planned to be advertised for bids in April. The committee also listed the 2025 street plan including Hillcrest, Riverside, parts of Shrier, Rinker Court and alley restorations, and mentioned future projects including proposed roundabouts on Bergen/Superior and Buck Glenwood and a Lime City 795 widening project.
Committee members discussed demolition of Indian Hills and possible partnership with the Wood County Parks District to clear trails; the committee is developing demolition scope and removing residuals before work begins. City staff also noted a leak at the marina tied to an NSG pump issue.
Council discussed requests from non‑resident fishermen to put docks in earlier than usual for the walleye run. Allison Murray explained the city rents docks by day, week or month and noted that early dock rental would raise staffing and liability questions. After discussion, council members signaled they would allow boat launching from the ramp year‑round but agreed not to open docks for early temporary docking to visitors; the council did not adopt a formal ordinance on dock rentals at the March 24 meeting.
The Public Works report also noted ongoing work on the fire station sleeping quarters and exterior covered storage discussions, and that Wales Road will be advertised for bids at the end of the month.
