The West Allis Common Council on Feb. 11 adopted a resolution honoring City Administrator Rebecca N. Gurriel, who has accepted a city manager position in Oshkosh.
Mayor Mary Devine read a resolution that thanked Gurriel for 10 years of service, citing leadership through budgets, capital planning and improved transparency. The mayor and other council members recounted examples of Gurriel’s work and praised her steady leadership; the mayor also shared lighthearted local trivia about Oshkosh as Gurriel prepares to relocate.
Gurriel addressed the council and thanked staff, elected officials and residents for the opportunity. The council unanimously adopted the resolution, and members presented remarks and applause in recognition of her service.
