Improvement and Service Committee approves downtown sign permit and several public-works contracts

The Improvement and Service Committee of Green Bay approved a revocable occupancy permit for a downtown business and awarded several Public Works contracts at its March 12 meeting.

City staff told the committee that Black Saddle, at 21 North Washington Street, requested a wall-mounted sign and an awning encroaching over the right-of-way. Staff recommended approval subject to execution of a hold-harmless agreement and submission of required insurance; the committee approved the request by voice vote and staff said it will add ordinance language to make clear revocable occupancy permits are handled at the staff level and that appeals would come to the committee when a permit is denied.
