ALRC grants operator license for Momo’s employee with DOC letter requirement

What the committee reviewed Captain (police) staff summarized Felton’s background checks for the committee: several convictions and court actions from 2018–2023, including misdemeanor possession and a 2022 charge for maintaining a drug-trafficking place that resulted in a probation sentence. The applicant said the offenses occurred while she was in an abusive relationship and that the events dated from that period; she told the committee she has been working and had no recent incidents.
Applicant statement Cheyenne Felton, an employee at Momo’s seeking an operator license, told the committee: “I was in a really bad relationship with a man for like two, three years, and got three cases while I was with him…they raided our house…that’s kinda where we’re at with that.” She also explained the circumstances of an open-intoxicant motor-vehicle matter and said she is on probation with scheduled completion later this year.
Committee action and condition Alder Revere moved to grant the operator license with the requirement that Felton submit a letter of support from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. The motion was seconded by Mr. Roushock and approved. Staff told the applicant to deliver the DOC letter to the Clerk’s Office by the April meeting; the Clerk recommended earlier submission if possible and indicated staff would notify ALRC members when the condition was satisfied.
Ending The ALRC stated that conditional approvals of this type are consistent with past practice when applicants can provide credible evidence of rehabilitation and supervisory support; the committee said it would follow up when documentation is submitted.
