Iowa House accepts special-election certification and administers oath to Blaine Watkins

The Iowa House of Representatives accepted the state canvassing board's certification of a special election and administered the oath of office to Blaine Watkins, who was declared elected to serve the remainder of the term for the 100th District.

Paul D. Pate, Secretary of State, was read into the record as having certified the special election results. The certification as read stated, in part, “do hereby certify that the state canvassing board has declared that a special election held on 03/11/2025, the following named person was duly elected to the office of state house of representative for the residue of the term ending 01/01/2027, 100th district, Blaine Watkins.”
