DRB approves Stonewood Village outparcel designs; orders small changes to access and landscaping

The Design Review Board approved elevations and materials for the Stonewood Village outparcel at 670 North Main Street and voted to approve the site plan for the outparcel with a small condition requiring a man door on the east side of the dumpster enclosure.

Architectural approvals included matching storefront brick, cast‑stone bases and dark metal accents; the board asked that the darker brick be used on both storefront entry bays so both tenant entrances read consistently. The board also approved the larger Stonewood Village building elevations earlier in the meeting.

On site and landscape matters the board required the applicant to add an east‑side man door and a clear walkway from that door to the rear service doors to avoid service traffic cutting across customer parking and the main drive lane. The vote on the outparcel site plan and the elevation detail passed unanimously among participating members after one member recused earlier in the session.

Separately, the board directed the applicant to work with staff to revise the landscape plan; board members said the west side had an overconcentration of large canopy trees in a small area and asked the applicant to shift some of the required tree density into the public streetscape or otherwise adjust species and spacing so sun‑sensitive understory plantings will thrive. The board’s landscape direction was recorded as a conditional approval: the applicant must work with staff to alter spacing and species to maintain the project’s overall tree count while improving plant health and distribution.

The board’s actions clear the way for final permitting on the outparcel once the applicant submits the minor changes for staff review.
